IAF UWM Historic car rally arrives in Doon amidst warm welcome

DEHRADUN, 14 Oct: UWM Car rally, that began at Thoise arrived in Dehradun via Leh, Srinagar and Jammu today. Rally participants were welcomed by hundreds of students and scientists at UCoST Science City Jhajhra led by renowned scientist and DG Dr Durgesh Pant.
Rally commander Wg Commander Vijay Prakash Bhatt, IAF officer Gr Captain Vinay Agnihotri, Everest summiteer CO Ashwini Pawar, Mountaineer Major Swati and thirty other Air Warriors were felicitated. Tribal students from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Uttarakhand from ITITI presented bouquets to rally participants.
According to Tarun Vijay, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh shall flag off the rally on 15th Oct at 9.30 am at Uttarakhand War memorial Shaurya Sthal in the presence of several military top brass from army, navy and IAF. Several top political leaders including Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, former CMs Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat are expected to attend. The rally is invited to visit Indian Military Acedemy and will have an interaction with Doon University students also on the same day before leaving for Agra.
