Dehradun, 17 Dec: In a significant relief to those with water and sewer connections, the Uttarakhand government has extended the surcharge waiver period until 31 March 2025 for all the consumers. This decision follows the announcement made in this regard by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
It may be recalled that CM Dhami had previously announced a 100 percent waiver of late fees on the lump sum payment of remaining dues for water and sewer services until 31 December 2023. This initiative saw a large number of consumers taking advantage of the relief offered. Now, under the Chief Minister’s directives, the surcharge waiver period has been extended to 31 March 2025, allowing more consumers to benefit from this scheme.
The extension aims to provide continued support to the general public and alleviate their financial burden related to water and sewer dues. The government hopes that this additional time will encourage more consumers to settle their dues and avoid incurring late fee.
