CM felicitates SDRF Jawans for Maha Kumbh duty

Dehradun, 4 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honoured SDRF personnel from the state on their return from Maha Kumbh duty in Prayagraj. During a felicitation ceremony held at the CM’s official residence, Dhami lauded their efforts in managing the grand event and presented a reward of Rs 5 lakh to the team.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM emphasised that the experience gained in Prayagraj will be invaluable for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh in 2027. He also praised the SDRF team for enhancing Uttarakhand’s prestige with it efficient service at Triveni Ghat and expressed confidence in their ability to ensure smooth crowd management in future events.

Dhami also observed that handling such a massive religious gathering at the Mahasangam of the Sanatan Dharma was a challenging task. Adequate arrangements and effective management of the Maha Kumbh have raised the prestige of the government of UP as well as Uttarakhand. This experience will prove helpful in the successful organisation of Kumbh in Haridwar in 2027. He added that the government’s effort is to have a well-planned parking system for vehicles, for which efforts are underway. The CM also acknowledged SDRF’s crucial role in disaster management, citing their swift response and advanced equipment as key factors in minimising disaster impact in the state.

The felicitation event was attended by Vice President of the State Disaster Management Advisory Committee, Vinay Rohila, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, DGP Deepam Seth, ADG Amit Sinha, IG, SDRF, Ridhim Agarwal, Commandant, SDRF, Arpan Yadavvanshi, and other senior officials besides the SDRF personnel.
