Play ‘Tera Naam’ enthralls Antara Residents

Dehradun, 6 Mar: A stage play, ‘Tera Naam’, was performed at Antara Senior Living Society, Purukul, on 5 March. The play was conducted under the aegis of Abhinaya Cultural Society. The play has been written by Dr Kusum Ansal.

Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand, Radha Raturi was the Chief Guest. Anil Raturi, former DGP, Uttarakhand, was the Guest of Honour.

The play commenced after the felicitation of the guests. The play was visual poetry, in which communication between two women friends in different cities was shown with lots of emotions and sensibilities. There were some tender moments of sweet-bitter experiences shared between them.

The play was enacted by Dr Kusum Ansal and President, Abhinaya Cultural Society, Rinku Singh. Their acting prowess was appreciated by one and all. The actors touched the emotional chord of the audiences with their natural depiction of mature women handling their own battles in life. The play turned very optimistic at the end, where a life lesson was reflected upon the audience that elderly people possess intrinsic values and ethics, which need to be preserved with dignity in the changing times.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Rinku Singh after the culmination of the play.

The play was directed by Col Bhaskar Bharti (Retd) and co-directed by Srijan Joshi. The production, design, publicity and choreography were handled by Harshit Verma. Light and sound were taken care of by Yash Sharma. The dance sequence during the play was performed by Anupriya from Antara.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi commended team ‘Tera Naam’ and appreciated the sensitive play written by Dr Kusum Ansal. She wished everyone a ‘Happy Woman’s Day’ in advance, which will fall on 8 March.  She reiterated the importance of good literary content in plays and praised the efforts of Abhinaya Cultural Society in the field of art and culture. Anil Raturi was very appreciative of the contribution of Abhinaya Cultural Society towards good theatre and commended the actors and the team ‘Tera Naam’.
