78th Lala Nemi Das memorial football league tourney takes off to a dashing start

DEHRADUN, 15 Nov.: After a gap of two years, the 78th Lala Nemi Das Memorial Football League – 2025 was inaugurated on Saturday at Pavilion Ground under the aegis of the District Soccer Association, Dehradun. The football league was inaugurated by senior Congress leader and former president of the District Football Association, Dehradun, Aryendra Sharma.
Saturday’s match was played between Nawada FC and Doon Elite Soccer Academy. Both teams began attacking each other right from the initial moments, and Nawada FC benefited from this when Aman Thapa scored a goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Aman Thapa made a brilliant goal, giving his team a 1–0 lead. After this, the players of Doon Elite Soccer Academy put in significant effort and displayed excellent gameplay in an attempt to equalize, but they did not succeed until the end of the first half.
The second half of the match was also intensely competitive. Both teams attacked continuously, trying their best to secure a win for their side. In the 50th minute of the second half, Doon Elite Soccer Academy’s No. 10 player, Rishi, scored a goal to level the match at 1–1. Subsequently, players of Nawada FC resumed their attacks but could not gain an advantage. Referee Ajay Gosai issued yellow cards to Nawada FC’s Raunak and Abhishek as warnings.
In the 55th minute, Doon Elite Soccer Academy’s player Jai received a ball inside the D area and converted it into a splendid goal, giving his team a 2–1 lead. Ultimately, the match ended with a score of 2–1. Doon Elite Soccer Academy won the match by scoring 2 goals against 1, earning 3 points.
In Saturday’s match, the refereeing responsibilities were carried out by Ajay Gosai, Adarsh Karun, Tushar Thakur, and Ranveer Singh Gosai.
Secretary Usman Khan informed that in Saturday’s inaugural match, in addition to the chief guest Aryendra Sharma, PC Verma, RS Rawat, Rajesh Mangai, Neenu Sehgal, District Soccer Association president Devendra Singh Gosai, Convener Kumar Thapa, Organizing Secretary Sanjay Chandola, Referee HOR Kailash Joshi, Mohsin Khan, Treasurer Laxman Singh Thakur, Dharmendra Kharola, Manish Bakshi,  Sanjeev Dobhal, Nirmal Singh, and many others were present. Tomorrow, Sunday, three matches will be played:
The first match between Doon United FC and Graphic Era FC at 11:30 AM.
The second match between Dehra 11 FC and Mahindra Boys FC at 1:15 PM.
The third match between Doon Eagles FC and
Wills Youth FC at 2:45 PM.
