Doon Riverside Campus school unfurls annual athletic meet

DEHRADUN, 22 Nov: Doon International School Riverside Campus organised its ninth Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26 on Saturday with zeal and zest.
Students from all categories participated in a wide range of track and field events, including the 400 m, 200 m, 100 m and 80 m races, alongside relay races for various divisions. The meet also featured engaging fun races for Grades I to III, which added colour and excitement to the programme. Field events and middle-distance races for girls were recognised during the initial prize distribution segments.
The relay races—particularly the 4×100 m events for Junior, Senior and Girls’ categories—were among the highlights of the day, showcasing coordination, speed and athletic brilliance. A special Teachers’ Relay Race added an element of camaraderie and cheer.
At the end of all events, prizes for the 80 m, relay, and 100 m races were presented. This was followed by the announcement of the Best Athletes—Junior Boys: Prithviraj Mani, Senior Boys: Aryan Kumar, Junior Girls: Sherleen Kaur, and Senior Girls: Kristina Singh. The March Past Trophy was lifted by Gandhi House, while the Overall Sports Trophy went to Lincoln House with Mandela House as Runners-up.
As is the tradition, thee event commenced with a formal opening ceremony: welcome address, unfurling of school flag, school anthem, an impressive march past, torch relay and oath-taking. Director HS Mann then declared the meet open, setting the tone for a day.
The ceremony concluded with the flag lowering and National Anthem. The meet stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to sportsmanship, discipline and holistic development.
