307 U’khand farmers benefit from Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, 680 more cases approved

DEHRADUN, 20 Dec: A total of 307 farmers in Uttarakhand have so far benefited under the Central Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, while consent has been granted in 680 additional cases, it was informed to Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State president in Rajya Sabha in response to his unstarred question.
Mahendra Bhatt had sought key information regarding farmers selected under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and its availability for Uttarakhand through Unstarred Question No 2262. Replying to the query, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ramnath Thakur said that the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund scheme is available not only to individual farmers but also to Farmer Producer Organisations, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, marketing and multipurpose cooperative societies, Self-Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups, Agricultural Produce Market Committees, agri-entrepreneurs, start-ups and various central and state agencies.
He stated that the scheme, which was launched in July 2020, has so far benefited a total of 67,007 individual farmers across the country under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. Of these, 307 beneficiaries belong to Uttarakhand. In addition to this, a total of 1,39,837 cases have been approved nationwide under the scheme, which include 680 cases from Uttarakhand.
