Haldwani (Nainital), 9 Dec: The Supreme Court is expected to deliver its judgment tomorrow in the Banbhulpura railway land encroachment case. In anticipation, the district administration and the police have intensified vigil in the entire Haldwani city. Banbhulpura has been declared a Zero Zone, with heavy police deployment and a comprehensive traffic diversion plan now in force. The police remain on high alert, and in this regard, the SSP also convened a meeting with district police officers and issued detailed instructions to ensure law and order is maintained.

The SSP stated that preserving peace was the top priority and cautioned that anyone attempting to disturb public order would face strict action. He said the police are maintaining close vigil on the ground as well as on social media platforms, and added that action would be taken against individuals spreading misleading information or inflammatory messages with the intent to influence the situation. He confirmed that the affected area is being fully barricaded, and that entry into the core Banbhulpura zone would be restricted to those carrying local identification. The Bomb Disposal Squad is also scheduled to conduct checking operations in Banbhulpura and Haldwani from today, while police have initiated intensive checking drives and preventive action taken against potential troublemakers through ‘muchalka paband’. A flag march was also held in Banbhulpura, and instructions had been issued to strengthen traffic management and enforce diversions in a timely manner.

The traffic diversion and Zero Zone plan for Banbhulpura, Haldwani city, and Nainital district will remain effective from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Additionally, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. the movement of heavy goods vehicles and vehicles associated with non-essential services will be entirely restricted across the district, with such vehicles to be halted at the borders. Under the diversion plan for vehicles entering Nainital district, traffic from Rampur and Rudrapur towards the hill districts will be diverted from Pantnagar Tiraaha via NH 109 (New Bypass) to Nagla Tiraaha and onwards through Kichha, Sitarganj, and Khatima. Vehicles from Bareilly and Kichha Road will proceed via Sitarganj and Khatima, while no entry will be permitted into the district from Nagla Tiraaha. Similarly, traffic from Sitarganj and Chorgalia Road will be diverted through Sitarganj to Khatima, with the Chorgalia border closed. Vehicles from Kashipur and Bazpur will be directed to Rudrapur, Kichha, Sitarganj, and Khatima, while traffic from the hill districts towards the plains must use the Tanakpur Road via Champawat, as entry into Nainital district will not be permitted.

In Haldwani city, vehicles from Rampur Road bound for Nainital, Bhimtal, Bhowali, and Kainchi Dham will be diverted from Ganna Centre and Sheetal Hotel Tiraaha to Golaapar Road via Teenpani Flyover to Nariman Tiraaha, while others from Dewalchaud Tiraaha will be routed through Chhadel Chauraha, Central Hospital Tiraaha, and Laldhanth Tiraaha to Panchakki Road and onwards to Nariman Tiraaha.
