Pantnagar, 25 Nov: The prestigious AIU Anveshan–North Zone Student Research Convention 2025 was inaugurated today at GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, jointly organised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology.
The Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony was Prof (Dr) DS Rawat, Vice-Chancellor, Kumaun University, Nainital; accompanied by Prof (Dr) Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor of Pantnagar University & Patron, North Zone Anveshan; Dr Amarendra Pani, Joint Director Research, AIU & Coordinator, North Zone Anveshan; Dr Deepa Vinay, Registrar & Zonal Coordinator; Dr RS Jadoun, Dean, Agriculture Business Management & Zonal Co-coordinator; members of the jury, deans, directors, various coordinators, committee chairpersons, faculty heads, faculty members, university students, and student participants from various institutions across the country.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Prof DS Rawat inspired the participating students and scientists present in the auditorium by sharing experiences from his life and insights on achieving excellence through dedication and commitment in research. He said that curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking in research would elevate India to new heights in global research and innovation and contribute significantly toward realiing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof Manmohan Singh Chauhan stated that Anveshan 2025 is not merely a competition but a celebration of scientific spirit and innovation among youth. Such platforms strengthen the nation’s research ecosystem and encourage young minds to propose solutions for agricultural, social, and technological advancement. Sharing his own research experiences on in-vitro fertilisation and ovum pickup technology in goat, buffalo and cow, he emphasised that clarity of objectives and passion for innovation are essential before beginning any research work. He said that young Indian scientists possess the capability to contribute meaningfully towards the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. He expressed gratitude to AIU for selecting Pantnagar University to host Anveshan 2025.
Dr Amarendra Pani, Joint Director Research of AIU and Coordinator of North Zone Anveshan 2025, highlighted the formation, objectives, policy decisions, and achievements of AIU in the fields of teaching and research. He stated that AIU is a unique organisation globally in many aspects. He explained the purpose of Anveshan 2025 and emphasised that the convention provides young researchers a national platform to present impactful research, exchange ideas, and gain recognition at national and international levels.
Welcoming the guests, Dr RS Jadoun, Co-coordinator of North Zone Anveshan 2025, elaborated on various aspects of Anveshan 2025. He stated that, according to AIU guidelines, research entries for the conference were invited in six major categories viz., Agriculture Sciences & Allied Subjects, Basic Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Health Sciences and Allied Sciences, Interdisciplinary Research, Social Science, Humanities, Business Management and Commerce & Law.
He further stated that more than 250 universities from across India are participating in Anveshan 2025. In the North Zone alone, 1,800 students from 30 universities registered for the event. A total of 375 students presented their projects in two phases—poster presentations and oral (podium) presentations of shortlisted entries. By hosting Anveshan 2025, Pantnagar University has once again demonstrated its commitment to innovation, scientific excellence, and national development as a leading research-driven institution.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr Deepa Vinay, Coordinator of North Zone Anveshan 2025, expressed gratitude to the University Vice-Chancellor for his visionary leadership, AIU Joint Director Research and Coordinator Dr Amarendra Pani for his support, and North Zone coordinators Dr Abhishek Yadav, Dr SB Singh, Dr Ritika Bhatt, Dr Divya, as well as all college deans, committee chairpersons, members, and media representatives for their cooperation.
