Ann Mary School dominates Frank Anthony Memorial Debate at SJA

Dehradun, 15 Jul: The Frank Anthony Memorial All India Debate 2024-25 (Category 1 Stage 1) brought together some of the brightest young minds from across Dehradun. Present were Principal, SJA, Brother Joseph, Community Leader, Bro Astinus Kujur, coordinators, and featured participants from esteemed schools of Dehradun including Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, Summer Valley School, Ann Mary School and Khrist Jyoti Academy. The debate, hosted by St. Joseph’s Academy was held today in the school auditorium.

The topic for this year’s debate, “Search for new world spells doom for the world we live in” sparked intense discussions and showcased the debaters’ eloquence and critical thinking. Each team brought unique perspectives, blending rigorous research with passionate delivery, highlighting both the advantages and challenges posed by modern technology.

Participants demonstrated remarkable dedication in honing their arguments and refining their speaking skills. The excitement was palpable as students engaged in thought-provoking exchanges, challenging each other’s viewpoints and defending their own with vigour.

After meticulous evaluation by the panel of judges comprising Veena Kalia, Dr Annie Singh and Divija Pandey, the Ann Mary School was declared the winner, with the Summer Valley School securing the second position respectively. Individual accolades were also awarded to Soham Chabra and Mansi Khanduri of Ann Mary School who were declared the best speakers For and Against the motion.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks by Principal Bro Joseph.
