Dehradun, 1 Dec: Acting on the direction of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, a team of the district administration conducted a surprise inspection of the Raman Enterprises Common Service Centre located in the Tehsil premises yesterday. The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kumkum Joshi, who ordered the immediate sealing of the centre after multiple irregularities were detected.

Interestingly, while the CSC was being operated by the name Devbhumi CSC Centre and Raman Enterprises, it was in reality being operated by Abdul Wasim and Asif.

During the raid at the Jan Seva Kendra, the team recovered documents related to various scheme applications that did not bear the applicants’ signatures. When questioned, the operators present at the CSC could not provide any satisfactory explanation regarding the documents. The centre was also found to be charging more than the prescribed fee for issuing certificates, while the daily register had not been updated since 27 November 2025. Taking serious note of these violations, the administration sealed the centre and suspended its operations until further orders.

It may be recalled that the Dehradun District Administration has been carrying out continuous inspections of CSC centres across the district following instructions from the District Magistrate, with closures being enforced wherever irregularities are detected. During the inspection, the team minutely examined the services being provided, the documentation process, transaction records, and service charges. Several lapses, rule violations, and serious errors in service delivery were found, and the operator failed to offer satisfactory responses to the inquiry. Consequently, the Devbhoomi CSC Centre was also sealed with immediate effect.

Reacting to the sealing of the CSC, District Magistrate Savin Bansal reiterated that irregularities, overcharging, or any form of consumer exploitation at public service centres will not be tolerated. Stating that public interest remains paramount, he emphasised that the administration will continue its intensive inspection drive to ensure transparency and accountability in service delivery. Officers and employees of the administrative team were present throughout the operation.
