Dehradun, 8 Jan: Urmila Devi, village pradhan of Gram Panchayat Banali, has written a letter to Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyaya, seeking his help and intervention for the inclusion of Gram Panchayats Banali, Pasni and Ghudsal in the Tehri Assembly constituency and Tehri Tehsil in place of Dhanolti, citing practical, geographical and administrative reasons.

In her letter, the gram pradhan has stated that the said gram panchayats are currently part of the Dhanolti Assembly constituency, although in practical terms they are geographically closer and administratively more connected to the Tehri region. She pointed out that Banali, Pasni and Ghudsal share natural access routes, public facilities and day-to-day administrative linkages with Tehri, making their present attachment with Dhanolti inconvenient for the local villagers.

Urmila Devi has further stated that due to this administrative mismatch, residents of these villages have remained deprived of effective development works and access to several government schemes. She said the people of the area have been facing difficulties since Independence as they fall outside the Tehri Assembly framework despite their close geographical proximity to it.

Seeking the MLA’s support, the Pradhan has urged Kishore Upadhyaya to take up the matter at the appropriate level and make sincere efforts to ensure that the gram panchayats concerned are included in Tehri Tehsil and Tehri Assembly constituency. She expressed hope that such a move would resolve long-pending administrative and developmental issues faced by the villagers.

The letter stated that the entire population of Banali, Pasni and Ghudsal would remain grateful for any initiative taken in this regard.
