Haldwani, 14 Oct: In a major relief for Haldwani residents, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Haldwani City Bus Service here today and flagged off the buses from the Circuit House premises on this occasion.
Addressing those present, the CM noted that the launch of the City Bus Service is a significant step towards the city’s development. This service will provide citizens with affordable, accessible, and safer transport facilities. He added that this initiative will also help reduce traffic congestion, lower pollution, and promote energy conservation in the city.
Dhami affirmed that the state government’s objective is to develop modern, environment-friendly, and safe transport systems in every town of Uttarakhand, ensuring better commuting facilities for the general public.
Transport Department officials stated that the Bus Service would be launched on the city’s main routes in a phased manner, which will greatly benefit local citizens, students, and working professionals.
Among those present on the occasion were MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat (Kaladhungi) and Ram Singh Kaida (Bhimtal), BJP District President Pratap Bisht, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Ridhhim Agarwal, Chief Development Officer (CDO) Anamika, and numerous other public representatives and officials.
