Dehradun, 8 Dec: The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) is organising a large-scale public service programme at its headquarters tomorrow, 9 December, to mark its 27th Foundation Day. The initiative aims to deliver various Corporation services to citizens swiftly, transparently, and with ease. Along with the main event, special service camps will be held in all wards linked to the headquarters, where public grievances and issues related to those specific areas will be addressed on the spot.
To prioritise public convenience, the Corporation is also conducting the ‘Nigam Janata Ke Dwar’ programme at four zonal offices across the city, namely Rajpur, Arcadia, Mothrowala, and Harrawala. These camps intend to bring essential services closer to citizens residing in remote areas, eliminating the need for them to visit the headquarters. The camps are being held in Arcadia on 8 December (held today), in Mothrowala on 10 December, Rajpur on 11 December, and Harrawala on 12 December 2025. At these locations, citizens can obtain on-the-spot assistance with important services such as birth and death certificates, house tax queries, sanitation and waste management issues, street lighting, drainage, building permits, licensing, and other civic amenities. Officials and staff from various departments will be available to register public concerns and initiate prompt resolutions.
At the same time, the flagship event at the Municipal Corporation headquarters is scheduled to be held tomorrow, which will serve as the main celebration of the ‘Nigam Janata Ke Dwar’ initiative. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be the chief guest on the occasion. The programme will feature numerous service counters catering to all major sections, ensuring swift hearing and redressal of public grievances. A help centre will facilitate digital services and guide citizens through online portals. Activities promoting sanitation, environmental protection, and public awareness are also included. Additionally, outstanding employees and sanitation workers will be felicitated in recognition of their service. The event will provide a platform for citizen dialogue and public awareness campaigns.
The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun has urged the citizens to actively participate in the camp series running from 8 to 12 December and the main foundation day programme on 9 December. The Corporation has invited the Doon residents to utilise these services and contribute towards the city’s continued development.
