Varanasi, 30 Jan: India Vision Institute (IVI) today launched a vision screening campaign in Varanasi for adults and schoolchildren, expanding access to primary eye care in partnership with CreditAccess India Foundation CSR arm of CreditAccess Grameen Limited.
The campaign will bring vision screening closer to communities and classrooms, enabling early identification of refractive errors and other eye health needs, and supporting timely referrals and follow-up where required.
Vinod Daniel, CEO, India Vision Institute, said, “Primary eye care is one of the simplest and most measurable interventions we can deliver. When a child is able to see the blackboard clearly, learning changes overnight. When adults see better, work becomes safer and more productive.”
“This campaign will strengthen learning outcomes and community wellbeing by ensuring more families in Varanasi receive timely screenings, referrals where needed, and follow-up support,” he added.
CreditAccess India Foundation’s COO Satish Rao said, “We are proud to partner with IVI to bring vision screening closer to families and classrooms in Varanasi.”
Gopal Reddy, Chief Business Officer, CreditAccess Grameen Limited, said, “At CreditAccess Grameen Limited, we support community-first initiatives that create visible, lasting outcomes. Accessible eye care is a direct investment in education, livelihoods, and everyday wellbeing.”
IVI will work closely with local stakeholders to ensure smooth, community-friendly delivery of screenings and follow-up support, with the goal of reducing avoidable vision impairment and improving access to affordable primary eye care.
Present at the launch, among others, were Avinash Agarwal (Union Bank), Ramnath Yadav (Thana in-charge), Chandra Shekhar (Village Pradhan), Gopal Reddy and Satish Rao.
