New Delhi, 11 Sep: The much-awaited Garhwali feature film “Raibaar” (Message), produced by Kinoscope Films, is set to release across Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR on 19 September.
Kinoscope Films is proud to announce that Raibaar will also become the first film from Uttarakhand to be showcased in the United States on the same date.
Raibaar tells the moving story of Pushkar Singh Bisht, a 34-year-old postman from Pipalkoti, a Himalayan village in Uttarakhand. Yearning for a life beyond the mountains, Pushkar had once been stopped by his father, leading to years of estrangement between them. His life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers an undelivered letter at the post office—written seven years earlier by a deceased man to his son, seeking forgiveness. Determined to deliver it, Pushkar embarks on a personal journey through Rishikesh, Dehradun, and Delhi—a quest that becomes a profound exploration of forgiveness, purpose, and self-discovery.
The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of Garhwali culture and cinema. Following the presentation of the heart-touching music album, the official trailer of the film will be unveiled. The music—an elegant blend of traditional Garhwali melodies and contemporary composition—is created by Rajendra Chauhan, with lyrics by Dr Satish Kaleshwari, and music direction & background score by Vibhu Kashiv. Playback singers Rohit Chauhan and Kailash Kumar have lent their voices, enriching the soul of the songs.
The programme will see the presence of the film’s cast—Sunil Singh, Suman Gaur, Shreesh Dobal, Rajesh Naugaayi, Mohit Ghildiyal, Sushil Purohit, Srishti Rawat, Mohit Thapliyal, and Dharmendra Chauhan—along with director-producer Shishir Uniyal, producers Parveen Saini and Balraj Jangra, and music director Vibhu Kashiv.
Director Shishir Uniyal said, ““Raibaar began years ago from a simple conversation, and I am grateful that it has now taken shape as a feature film. Through this story, I wanted to explore the power of forgiveness and the importance of self-discovery for personal growth.”
Producer Bhagat Singh of Kinoscope Films added, “With Raibaar, our vision is to highlight the powerful narratives and incredible talent rooted in Uttarakhand’s soil. We are committed to strengthening regional storytelling and presenting it with a quality that resonates with global audiences. This film proves that a deeply human story, grounded in its land, carries universal appeal.”
The team’s mission with this cinematic venture is to promote the linguistic and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand.
