GOC, U’khand Sub Area, inaugurates new CSD Canteen at Vikasnagar

Dehradun, 17 Oct: In a significant step towards welfare of Soldiers, Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and next of kin, Major General MPS Gill, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area, today inaugurated the newly constructed CSD Canteen at non-Military Station Vikasnagar (Fatehpur, Herbertpur). The new CSD building was completed in record time and integrated with ECHS polyclinic for meeting all aspirations of veterans under one roof.

On the occasion, Major General MPS Gill said, “Uttarakhand Sub Area is always committed and dedicated to ensuring welfare of Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependants in the state of Uttarakhand and this milestone reaffirms the Indian Army’s resolve to reach out to its Veterans in all parts of the country.”

The GOC shared his vision of reaching out to most remote areas of the region to ensure delivery of facilities to the last beneficiary. The newly constructed CSD Canteen in Vikasnagar features state of the art facilities catering for dependency of 1525 soldiers and veterans and their dependants in general area Vikasnagar.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of a large number of veterans, Veer Naris and their dependants, reflecting the strong bond between the Indian Army and its extended family. Also in attendance were Brig Ram Singh Thapa, Station Commander, Dehradun, and senior officers from Dehradun Sub Area.
