Dehradun/Haridwar, 24 Jan: As part of the centenary programmes of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a grand Hindu Sammelan will be organised tomorrow at the revered Har Ki Pauri in the holy city of Haridwar. Hindutva-aligned organisations have finalised preparations to ensure the success of the event. According to sources, it will be the first occasion when an RSS centenary programme of this scale is being held at the iconic Har Ki Pauri. Preparatory work along the main routes leading to the venue has reached its final stages, while special security arrangements have also been put in place in view of the expected large gathering.
The Sammelan, aimed at spreading the message of Hindutva awakening and social unity, is being organised under the aegis of the Maa Ganga Hindu Sammelan Samiti and the Shri Ganga Sabha. President of the Shri Ganga Sabha, Nitin Gautam shared that the conference will be held at 2 pm tomorrow near Sanjay Bridge on the sacred banks of Har Ki Pauri. He stated that the primary objective of the gathering is to strengthen a sense of unity within Hindu society and to awaken cultural consciousness among the masses.
Describing the present period as a golden age for Sanatan and Hindu society, Gautam asserted that the construction of the grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya after a struggle of nearly 500 years is a matter of pride and good fortune for the current generation. He said the Hindu Sammelan in Haridwar has been conceived to further carry forward this cultural and spiritual consciousness. He further stated that a large number of Sanatan followers, saints, religious devotees and intellectuals from Haridwar, various parts of Uttarakhand and other states are expected to participate in the programme. Through this Sammelan, the Ganga Sabha aims to take the message of Hindutva to every household and convey a strong message from the land of Maa Ganga to the rest of the world.
Sources added that the keynote address at the Sammelan to be held tomorrow will be delivered by RSS Prant Pracharak Shailendra, while several saints, pilgrimage priests and members of the Panda community will also be present. In recent days, the issue of restricting the entry of non-Hindus to the Ganga Ghats has been widely discussed. It is expected that this matter will figure prominently during the deliberations at the Hindu Sammelan.
