Dehradun, 25 Nov: Doon Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal along with the Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal today conducted a site inspection of the under-construction Food Park project on Raipur Road under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam). During the inspection, the mayor expressed strong displeasure over the slow pace of construction, incomplete arrangements and the failure to achieve progress in accordance with the stipulated work plan.
The mayor reprimanded the engineers, departmental officials and the contractor present at the site, making it clear that any laxity in a public-utility project such as the Food Park would not be tolerated. He directed that all the project work must be completed within the specified deadline and emphasised that there should be no compromise on construction quality, which must adhere to high standards. He also emphasised that public interest, safety and amenities must be given the highest priority at the site.
Thapliyal also instructed that an appropriate drainage system be developed immediately to prevent waterlogging during the next monsoon season. He further directed that pathways, parking facilities, lighting arrangements and security measures be completed in a time-bound manner for the convenience of citizens. Issuing a stern warning, he stated that, if negligence is detected in the work, strict administrative action will be taken against the officials and the construction agency. He also ordered regular inspections at the site and continuous monitoring of progress.
Engineers, project staff and many local residents were present during the inspection. The residents shared their suggestions and stressed on the need for early completion of the Food Park.
