Minister Joshi extends congratulations on Army Day at Sub Area HQs

Dehradun, 15 Jan: Soldiers’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi today met the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General MPS Gill and Deputy GOC Brigadier RS Thapa at the Uttarakhand Sub Area, Garhi Cantt, and extended his greetings and best wishes on the occasion of Army Day.

On this occasion, Minister Ganesh Joshi praised the bravery, valour, and discipline of the Indian Army, stating that the Army is a strong shield of the nation’s security. He said that the Indian Army has safeguarded the country’s borders in every situation and has brought pride to the nation. The Minister further noted that Uttarakhand shares a deep bond with the armed forces, and soldiers from the state have always played a leading role in serving the nation. He added that the state government is continuously working for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their dependants.

During the meeting, discussions were also held on mutual coordination, issues related to soldiers’ welfare, and the interests of ex-servicemen in the state. Additionally, the GOC put forward a demand for the installation of two LED screens for information on military schemes and the construction of a community shed in Vikasnagar. In response, the Soldiers’ Welfare Minister assured positive action on these requests.
