Dehradun, 29 Jan: The song, “Purani Preet”, sung by Narendra Singh Negi and Pratiksha Bamrada, is receiving an overwhelming response from audiences. The song has been written by renowned Jaunsar Bawar writer Shyam Singh Chauhan, with music composed by Sitaram Chauhan. It features powerful performances by Uttarakhand’s popular actor Abhinav Chauhan and well-known actress Shweta Mehra. The song’s impressive cinematography has been done by Uttarakhand’s acclaimed cinematographer Yuddhveer Negi, while the music arrangement has been handled by Pawan Gunsai and Rakesh Pandey. The song has been directed by Uttarakhand’s renowned film director Anuj Joshi.
The song has been picturised amidst the scenic landscapes of Jaunsar Bawar, including locations such as Makti Pokhri, Ramtal Garden, Phateu, and the villages of Jhusou–Bhakrou.
On YouTube, audiences across Uttarakhand are highly appreciating the song and its theme. “Purani Preet” is a love-based song that tells an emotional story of a young couple who fall in love during their youth. However, when the lover discovers that he is suffering from a serious lung disease that could claim his life at any time, he refuses to marry his beloved. He does not reveal the true reason to her, believing that his short life would ruin her future if they married.
Unable to understand his refusal, the beloved eventually marries someone else. Despite not being together, both continue to love each other deeply in their hearts. The lover imagines that her married life should never be destroyed, and both envision that when they die, their deaths and cremations should happen together. In the climax of the song, the lover dies suddenly due to his illness in the presence of his beloved, and the shock is so profound that she too passes away at the same moment.
