Sankalp Samiti holds Environment Awareness Rally

Dehradun, 27 Dec: Under the aegis of Sankalp Educational and Welfare Society, a session at the 7 day NSS camp for Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidhayalay was conducted in Sunderwala. The programme was inaugurated by Social Worker, Academic Counsellor and Sankalp Founder President Thakur Ravi Singh Negi, who delivered a brief lecture on personality development to the NSS participants. He emphasised the development of soft skills along with excelling in academics.

On this occasion, a rally was carried out by Sankalp Volunteers and NSS participants holding banners and placards regarding environment protection, especially against the use of plastic bags. Volunteers and NSS students distributed handmade envelopes and cotton carry-bags to the shopkeepers and requested them not to use plastic bags. They were asked to convince their costumers to bring their own bags for purchases. The programme was presided over by social worker Manoj Kapoor.

On this occasion, Sankalp General Secretary Anita Negi, Ashok Vardhan Singh and Manisha Tomar gave tips on conserving the environment and asked students to keep the surroundings clean and green. The programme was conducted by Navodaya Senior Teacher Mahesh Dutt Mamgain and Minisha Tomar.

In addition to the guests present were NSS students of Navodaya Vidhayalay, Rashmi Rawat, Manju Dhiman, Mandakani, Nisha, Savita, Aradhya, Kavya, etc.
