SDRF rescues 3 young men caught in Ganga rapid

New Tehri, 26 Dec: Three youths from Gumanivala in Rishikesh had a narrow escape after being stranded in the strong current of the Ganga near Phoolchatti Golf Rapid. A sudden rise in the water level trapped them in the middle of the river, causing panic. Hearing their cries for help, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team swiftly reached the spot and conducted a successful rescue operation this morning.

The rescued young men were identified as Manish Semwal (aged 25 years), Gaurav Semwal (aged 21 years), and Shekhar Kotiyal (aged 20 years), all residents of Gumanivala, Rishikesh.

The commendable efforts of the SDRF team ensured the safe evacuation of the youths. Head Constable Arjun Singh, along with team members Jitendra Singh, Pradeep Rawat, Anoop Rawat, Ramesh Bhatt, Pankaj Singh, Sumit Negi, Amit Kumar, and Rahul Kumar, played pivotal roles in the operation.

Once again, the efficiency and dedication of the SDRF in responding to emergencies and ensuring public safety has come to the fore. The team’s prompt action averted a potential tragedy and earned them appreciation from the local community.
