Ramnagar (Nainital), 16 Oct: Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal dedicated the renowned tourist destination, ‘Corbett Fall’, situated within the Ramnagar Forest Division, to the public during a grand inaugural ceremony held last evening. The reopening aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guiding principle of ‘Ecology to Economy’, with a focus on preserving natural beauty and ecological balance.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Uniyal directed forest department officials to develop and maintain Corbett Fall as a plastic-free, sustainable, and eco-friendly tourism model. He also called upon the local residents to actively support this initiative and emphasised that environmental conservation and sustainable development require collective participation.

The Forest Minister stated that the state government is committed to generating employment for local youth through eco-tourism based on forest resources. He observed that such efforts would not only safeguard the region’s natural heritage but also strengthen and make the rural economy self-reliant. He added that the government aims to develop tourist destinations in a manner which would promote nature, education, and local culture simultaneously and create holistic centres of learning and livelihood rooted in ecological integrity.
