Garhwal Post Bureau

Dehradun, 15 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over letters to 1,456 selected candidates during a function held at Doon Medical College, Patelnagar, here today. The appointees include 109 Review Officers and Assistant Review Officers for the Secretariat recruited through the Uttarakhand State Public Service Commission, and 1,347 Assistant Teachers (LT Grade) appointed through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC).

Extending his congratulations to the successful candidates on the occasion, the CM noted that this day marks a significant milestone in their lives and lays the foundation of a bright future for the state. He called upon the newly appointed officers and the teachers to perform their duties with complete honesty, transparency, and devotion, and to set new benchmarks of excellence in their respective fields.

Dhami also observed that the administrative structure forms the very backbone of a state’s governance system, adding that the Secretariat functions as the brain of this system, where policies are framed, decisions taken, and development plans shaped for implementation on the ground. He stated that review officers play an important role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of this system. The CM noted that children who receive quality education not only transform their own lives but also contribute meaningfully to society and the nation. For this reason, the teachers bear the responsibility of not just imparting education but also nurturing a sense of civic duty and patriotism among the students so that they may grow into responsible citizens.

The CM further said that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is constantly endeavouring to modernise and raise the quality of education. Continuous efforts are being made to introduce comprehensive reforms at all levels, from improving school infrastructure to implementing digital initiatives. He claimed that several concrete measures have been adopted to make the recruitment process in the state transparent and equitable.

Dhami reminded the gathering that, during the past four years, more than 26,000 youth have secured employment in government service, which is over twice the number provided by previous governments since the state’s formation. He asserted that opportunities are now being extended on the basis of transparency and merit. Referring to the recent examination irregularities reported from Haridwar, he said the government has acted promptly by arresting the accused and constituting an SIT to investigate the case. To uphold fairness and protect the interests of the youth, the government also recommended a CBI inquiry and decided to cancel the tainted paper.  The CM also reminded that he personally met the agitating youth and assured them that all their legitimate demands would be addressed.

Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the appointment process in the Education Department would continue and that the positions of Block Resource Persons (BRPs), Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs), Basic Teachers, and Class IV employees in the state would be filled shortly. Rawat also informed the newly appointed teachers that they are being posted in remote areas and must serve there compulsorily for a few years as part of their initial posting.

Among those present on the occasion included Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, MLA Vinod Chamoli, Secretaries Ravinath Raman and Dipendra Chaudhary, along with senior officials of the Education Department.
