DEHRADUN, 20 Dec: Uttarakhand Virtual Bazaar (UVB) is a pioneering initiative that was born during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. When physical markets were shut and small businesses faced unprecedented hurdles, UVB emerged as a digital platform to support entrepreneurs, artisans, and local brands across Uttarakhand. Its mission was simple yet powerful – to help businesses sustain, grow, and reach customers safely, even amidst lockdowns.
UVB provides a virtual marketplace where sellers can showcase their products, from handlooms, handicrafts, and fashion to food items, home décor, and more. By moving online, these businesses found a way to continue operations, maintain income, and connect directly with buyers across the state and beyond.
Beyond sales, UVB has become a community hub for knowledge sharing, networking, and skill-building. The platform often features workshops, promotional campaigns, and events that help sellers enhance their business skills and visibility.
Today, Uttarakhand Virtual Bazaar stands as a testament to resilience and innovation. It has not only helped businesses survive a crisis but also created opportunities for them to thrive in a new, digital-first world, empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening the local economy.
According to Richa Karanwal, “The fest is a celebration of women-led entrepreneurship, creativity, lifestyle, and community – and amalgamation of curated brands, performers and families on this vibrant platform”.
