Dana Musser Crider, former Woodstock Teacher and Chairman of Keeping the Environment Ecologically Natural (KEEN) passed away peacefully in his home Pennington, Landour, Mussoorie, in the early morning of 18 September 2025.
Born in Pennsylvania, US, Dana moved to Mussoorie in 1979 to join Woodstock School. Generations of Woodstockers remember him as a strict but loving Dorm Parent and Teacher who taught them beyond the academics. His love for sports and sportsman spirit was evident in the way he led his life.
A devout Christian, he was a Church leader not just for Union Church but the entire Christian Community in Mussoorie.
His love and passion for his beloved Mussoorie led him to start the organisation, KEEN, which is today at the forefront of Waste Management in Mussoorie, giving employment and dignity to the most marginalised sections of society.
Dana is survived by his wife Judy, sons Andy and Philip, his grandchildren, his students, friends and the KEEN family.
A celebration of his life will take place at Union Church on Saturday, 27 September 2025.
