10,000 posts in Education Dept to be filled: Dr Dhan Singh Rawat

Dehradun, 12 Jan: A target has been set to fill ten thousand posts of various cadres in the financial year 2024-25 to the School Education Department in the state. The exercise has been started by the departmental officers. Guidelines have also been issued from the higher level to fill these vacant posts in the primary, secondary and other education levels.

State School Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat today held a review meeting of departmental officers at the Directorate of School Education. He asked the officials for details on vacant posts of various cadres under primary education, secondary education and overall education. Dr Rawat said that at the school education level, about 10 thousand posts are vacant from basic to secondary, which will be filled in the financial year, 2024-25. Officers have been instructed to start the recruitment process as per the service rules so that the maximum number of unemployed people can be provided jobs.

He said that, under Samagra Shiksha, run with the support of Government of India, alone, there are 1580 vacancies of different categories across the state, out of which 955 posts of BRP-CRP, 161 posts of Resource Person IED and 363 posts of Accountant cum Supporting Staff are to be filled. The process is in progress. Similarly, under secondary education, requisition for 613 posts of lecturer and 1595 posts of assistant teacher LT has been sent to the commission, on which the recruitment process is to start soon. In primary education, about 3604 posts of primary teachers are vacant. The requisition has been sent to the Subordinate Services Selection Commission. The School Education Minister said that about 2500 posts of class IV will be recruited through outsourcing. Only the candidates of the local block will be given a chance on the fourth category posts. For this it is necessary for the candidates to be registered in the district concerned. Dr Rawat said that the dependants of deceased employees will be given appointment on 105 vacant posts of Junior Assistant under the Education Department.

Dr Rawat also reviewed the progress related to the departmental budget, cluster schools, PM-Shri schools and construction of school buildings selected in D category. He directed the officers that 100 percent of the approved budget should be spent on construction works and other items for the current financial year.

Present at the meeting were Additional Secretary, School Education, Ranjana Rajguru, MM Semwal, Director of Primary Education, RK Uniyal, Director, Secondary Education, MS Bisht, Finance Controller Gulfam Ali, Assistant Secretary, Education, Vikas Srivastava, Prem Singh Rana, Joint Director Padmendra Saklani, Staff Officer Education BP Mandoli and other departmental officers.
