10th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament begins

Dehradun, 27 Apr: The inaugural ceremony of the 10th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament 2023 (Boys under – 19 category) took place on Thursday in the evening hours at The Asian School, Dehradun. The 4 daylong event will last from 27th to 30th April. A total of 12 teams are participating in this event played in the league cum knockout format.

The participating teams are as follows: Corvuss American Academy, St George’s College, Woodstock School, Doon International School, Selaqui International School, The Maan School, Sri Ram Centennial School, The Doon School, St John’s School, The Asian School (A & B – two teams), and Wynberg-Allen School.

Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Principal, The Asian School was the Chief Guest on the occasion to inaugurate the most awaited  4 days league cum knockout format tournament. She greeted the teams with a hand shake and wished them good luck.

The event commenced with the oath taking ceremony by the basketball captain Hardik Sharma of The Asian School, Dehradun

The first match was contested between Corvuss American Academy (CAB), Mumbai & Wood Stock School (WS), Mussoorie. Corvuss American Academy (CAB), Mumbai won the match by the score of 54/16. The highest scorer of the match was Yogesh Yadav.

The prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were the Vice President of The Asian School, Madanjeet Singh Juneja, Director, Vartika Shah & Gaganjyot Juneja, Head Senior School, Mukesh Nangia, Headmistress, Prachi Mehrotra, coaches from participating schools, the officiating referees, the staff and the students of The Asian School.
