Dehradun, 23 Dec: To prevent corona infection in the state, it has been made mandatory to wear masks in crowded places with effect from today. At the same time, RTPCR tests have also been made necessary for the patients coming to the hospitals with complaints and symptoms related to cold, fever and respiratory problems. Meanwhile, two new corona cases were identified in the state in the past twenty four hours, while three infected persons have recovered in the same period. Presently, 28 infected persons are being treated for Corona infection.
According to the report released by the Health Department, within the last 24 hours, 626 samples were tested in the state. Of the total number of tests conducted in the past 24 hours, one Corona case was detected in Dehradun while the other case was detected in district Rudraprayag. The Health Department claimed that most of the Corona infected persons in the state are in home isolation.
The Uttarakhand Government has issued an alert in the state in view of the rising number of cases globally.

Secretary, Health, Dr R Rajesh Kumar yesterday issued the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) on Covid. The guidelines include random sampling of foreigners arriving in Uttarakhand. All DMs and CMOs have also been directed to compulsorily send Corona infected samples to Government Medical College, Dehradun, for genome sequencing in order to detect any possible new strain of the Corona virus. In addition, the health department and the district administrations have also been asked to make people aware of the Covid protocols. In addition, Covid vaccine booster dose camps will also be held as per the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
