Dehradun, 26 Jul: In a joint effort by Pratham Shaas Foundation, Dehradun Citizens’ Council, and Shri Prithvinath Mahadev Temple Sevadal, a large-scale blood donation camp and distribution of 100 plants was organised today on the occasion of Harela Festival.
This blood donation camp was conducted in collaboration with Dev Bhoomi Blood Centre.
Anamika Jindal, Founder and Chairperson of Pratham Shaas Foundation, stated that the organisation has been organising blood donation camps annually for several years. The main objective is to ensure that any needy and impoverished individual can receive free blood within 24 hours of requirement.
She mentioned that 47 units of blood were collected at today’s camp, which could help save approximately 141 lives. She expressed, “I believe there is no greater noble deed than blood donation. I sincerely salute all the blood donors who donated their valuable blood and served humanity.”
All blood donors and guests present at the camp were gifted one plant each, with a request to plant and care for the saplings regularly. On this occasion, Anamika Jindal expressed special thanks to Yogendra Pundir, who provided 100 plants, contributing significantly to the Foundation’s campaign to plant 5,000 trees.
The programme was attended by the Chief Guest and distinguished guests including Legislator Savita Kapoor, Justice Rajesh Tandon, Dr DS Mann, Dr S Farooq, Sanjay Garg, RK Bakshi, Pramod Kapoor, Indrani Pandhi, Sanjay Mittal, Trupti Mittal, Neera Mittal, Bhakti Kapoor, Manju Harnal, Ravindra Rastogi, Priya Gulati, Anuj Jain, Gaurav Jain, Naved Gupta, Vicky, Jogendra Pundir, Shashi Singhal, Roshan Rana, Sumit Prajapati, Sumit, Laskar, Dr Gita Khanna, Dr Mukul Sharma, Dr Shailendra Kaushik, Dr Seema Krishn Avtar, Indu Sharma, Navedu Chouhan, Shyam Sunder Goyal, Nalini, Pawan, Monty Kohli, Gama, Ranveer, Asha, Mona Koul, Riya, Tanvi, Balesh Gupta, Aarti, Ashok Verma, Nagesh, Surya Prakash, Ashish Mittal, Sheel/Adesh Mangal, students of UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) including Midhavi, Carole, Nandita, Rudraksh, Raghav, Shrey, Niyati, Toshiya, and Manthan, who actively contributed to the success of the event.
Organisers expressed gratitude to all blood donors, supporters, and attendees, and appealed to more people to participate in blood donation and environment conservation initiatives for public welfare.
