Dehradun, 16 Mar: Preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls scheduled to begin in April have gathered momentum in Uttarakhand. The officials stated today that 87 percent of voter mapping in the state has already been completed.
On the initiative of Chief Electoral Officer DR BVRC Purushottam, the officials from the Election Department of Rajasthan visited Uttarakhand to share their experience and best practices in conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
During an important meeting held in Dehradun, today, CEO of Rajasthan Naveen Mahajan delivered a detailed presentation on the SIR exercise recently carried out in Rajasthan and shared key insights and practical tips for its successful implementation. The meeting was attended by officials of the CEO’s Office in Uttarakhand as well as Deputy District Election Officers and Additional District Magistrates from all districts of the state. National Level Master Trainers and State Level Master Trainers also participated in the session.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Purushottam stated that mapping of 87 percent of voters in the state has been completed so far. He added that, in the polling stations where the mapping process is progressing at a slower pace, the officers concerned have been given a timeline and instructed to complete the work within the stipulated period so that the Special Intensive Revision can be conducted smoothly.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Chandra, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi, Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan MM Tiwari, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer NK Meena and Chief Development Officer, Dehradun, Abhinav Shah. Deputy District Election Officers and Additional District Magistrates from all districts of the state, along with National Level Master Trainers and State Level Master Trainers, were also present at the meeting.
