Dehradun, 24 Nov: On the second day of the Girls under 16 category of the 8th PC Batta Tennis Tournament underway at the Kasiga School, Ishana Roy of Kasiga beat Diya of DPS 7-3 and then Vishakha of Selaqui 7-0 to go into the semifinals. Varinda of Selaqui beat Siona of Woodstock 7-1 but lost the next round 7-1 to Yuvika of the Aryan School with Yuvika reaching the semifinal. Saira of Ecole beat Anahita of CJM, 7-0. Sehar of DPS beat Saanvi of Welham Girls, 7-1, then she beat Saira, 7-4, to reach the semifinal. Mahi of Welham Girls beat Vaibhavi of Ecole, 7-4, and then beat Yukta of Kasiga, 7-1. to reach the semis.
In Girls under 18, Varinda of Selaqui beat Dakshayani of Welham Girls, 7-5, but then lost 7-1 to Siya of Ecole. Siya has reached the semifinals. Yuvika of Aryan beat Vishakha of Selaqui, 7-1, to reach the semis. Vaibhavi of Ecole beat Yukta of Kasiga, 7-5, then Kyra of Welham Girls beat her 7-2 to reach the semis.
In the last match Ishana of Kasiga beat Diya of DPS, 7-2, to book her place in the semifinals of under 18.
On the third day, in the Boys under 16 category, Shaurya of Aryan beat Diljot of Selaqui 7-6 (7-3), Rohnish beat his compatriot Rannvijay 7-6 (7-3), then beat Shaurya, 7-3, to book his place in the final.
In the bottom half of the draw, Lovish of DPS Solan beat Teerath of Selaqui 7-4, Yatharth of Solan beat Vihaan of DPS, Dehradun, 7-1, then beat Lovish, 7-4, to face Rohnish in the final.
In the boys under 18 category, Yatharth of Solan beat his compatriot Divyansh, 7-2, to reach the final. Navin of Selaqui beat Laksh of Asian School, 7-1, to reach the final.
In the boys’ doubles, DPS Solan first beat Selaqui then Welham Boys to reach the final. Aryan School beat Kasiga to reach the doubles final.
In girls under 16, Yuvika of Aryan beat Ishana of Kasiga, 7-1, and Sehar of DPS beat Mahi of Welham Girls, 7-5. Both girls will contest the final.
In girls under 18 category. Ishana of Kasiga beat Kyra of Welham Girls, 7-5, to reach the final. Yuvika of Aryan beat Siya of Ecole 7-3 to reach the final.
In the girls doubles, Selaqui beat Welham Girls, 7-6 (7-5), and Ecole beat Kasiga, 7-3, to reach the final.
