Dehradun, 16 Jul: A “Navratna Honour Ceremony” was organised by the ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan Samiti’ at the Kanya Gurukul Campus, DL Road, here, to felicitate nine meritorious girl students who secured outstanding marks in the Uttarakhand State Board Examinations. The programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, former Governor of Maharashtra and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, honoured the students and appreciated the organisation’s continuous efforts towards public welfare. He stated that such social initiatives play a vital role in the nation’s overall development. Congratulating the students, he said that their remarkable achievements have brought pride not only to themselves and their families but also to the entire state.
The Guest of Honour, Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women, appreciated the organisation for recognising talented girl students. She remarked that these young achievers would become the future leaders of society. While congratulating them, she assured that the State Women’s Commission would always stand with them whenever they needed support.
The Special Guest, Deepti Rawat, State General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), also praised the organisation’s social initiatives. Blessing the students, she said that India has always respected women’s leadership and that today women are contributing alongside men in every sphere of nation-building. She expressed confidence that these students would hold important positions in the future and make significant contributions to the country.
The Principal of Kanya Gurukul, Heman Pathak, expressed gratitude to the organisation for selecting her institution to host the felicitation ceremony. She said that the students’ dedication towards education was truly exceptional and congratulated both the students and their parents, encouraging them to continue working hard.
The keynote speaker and social worker, Vijayalakshmi, extended her best wishes to the students and encouraged them to pursue their studies with the same dedication. She also emphasised the importance of good handwriting and shared valuable tips for improving it.
Addressing the gathering, Swapnil Sinha, Founder and President of Jan Jagran Abhiyan Samiti, said that serving society gives him immense happiness. He congratulated the students and wished them a bright and successful future. He also shared that his inspiration for social service comes from his late father, Brijkishore Prasad.
The programme was skillfully conducted by Vivek Srivastava, Secretary of the organisation, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Rajesh Dobhal, Patron of the organisation.
The organisation also expressed its gratitude by honouring its supporters, including Sunil Maison, owner of Kanshi Jewellers; representatives of Downtown Bakers; Jai Prakash & Sons; Amit Khera of Sant Kabir Dairy; and Chaddha Bakers, for their valuable contribution towards the successful organisation of the event.

The programme was attended by Patron Piyush Bhatnagar, Dhananjay Kukreti, Vice President Pramod Belwal, Prof Archana Dimri, Vijay Shukla, Saurabh Tripathi, Khushi Rawat, Satakshi, the parents of all award-winning students, and several distinguished guests.
