The summit was organised by the SETU Commission, the Health Department, and Velox at a hotel on Rajpur Road, with participation from representatives of Himalayan states across the country.

On this occasion, the Governor emphasised that innovation and the integration of technology in healthcare services are the need of the hour. He stated that strengthening primary and preventive healthcare systems in the state is extremely essential. Stressing the importance of improving healthcare services in rural and remote areas, he said that without strengthening primary healthcare, the overall health system cannot be made effective.

The Governor highlighted the need to connect primary health centres with technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), modern diagnostic tools, and telemedicine to make healthcare services more robust. He noted that the COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated the importance of effective use of technology in the health sector. Through AI, telemedicine, and mobile communication tools, healthcare services can be made more accessible, faster, and efficient.
