Dehradun, 19 Mar: The year 2025-26 session drew to a close with the children of UKG graduating to Class I, and Class V graduating from primary school to middle school, at Mount Ford Academy. The ceremony was held today with Sangita Kukreti as the Guest of Honour. Kukreti is an academician, and an alumna of the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Dehradun. Her dedication leadership and academic excellence led her to head the reputed Chatrabhujh Narsee Memorial School, Vile Parle, Mumbai, for many years.
The ceremony started with traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, the Principal, Samarth Negi and Sakshi Kashyap, the oldest students of Mount Fort Academy. The divine blessings were invoked in the form of a prayer and closely followed by the welcome dance performed by the girls of Grade V. Recitation of Sanskrit Shlokas highlighting the prominence of a Guru in the life of a child were chanted by Udisha Sharma and Liza Reena Nalavade from the same grade.
The students received their ‘degrees’ and graduated to the next important phase of their life in the journey of education.
Some talented students of Class V staged the play ‘The Cracked Pot’ highlighting that within the imperfections lies the perfect. The students received a standing ovation for their brilliant performance.
The chief guest in her address to the parents and children stressed upon the fact that, with both parents working, there is limited time available to spend with the child. She highlighted that the parents should invest quality time with their growing children engaging in craft work, visiting a zoo, taking a walk in the garden and similar activities. They should dream big and leave no stone unturned in their efforts to fulfill their dreams.
Principal Dr Paarull Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
Teachers of the school sang, ‘May the Good Lord bless and keep you’, written by Meredith Wilson. The proceedings of the day came to a close with rendition of the National Anthem.
