Dehradun, 22 Mar: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the past four years in Uttarakhand have taken the state’s development journey to new heights. This period has not merely been about announcements, but about effective implementation on the ground and visible outcomes. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Developed India @2047”, Uttarakhand has established itself as a leading state.

One of the most significant achievements has been Uttarakhand becoming the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code. Alongside this, historic decisions such as a strong land law, a strict anti-conversion law, and an anti-copying law have strengthened governance and ensured greater transparency. The anti-copying law has restored confidence in recruitment processes, reflected in more than 32,000 government jobs provided to youth over the past four years.

On the economic front, the state has recorded remarkable progress. In 2024–25, Uttarakhand’s GSDP reached Rs 3.81 lakh crore, showing a one-and-a-half-fold increase compared to 2021–22. Per capita income has risen to Rs 2.73 lakh, while the Multidimensional Poverty Index has declined to 6.92%. The state’s growth rate stood at 7.23%, indicating a strong economic foundation.

In the industrial sector, Memorandums of Understanding worth Rs 3.56 lakh crore were signed during the Global Investors Summit, of which investments exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore have already been grounded. Uttarakhand has earned a “Leader” status in the startup ecosystem, while the number of MSMEs has grown to around 80,000, generating employment for lakhs of people.

In healthcare and social security, under the Atal Ayushman scheme, 6.1 million cards have been issued, and more than 1.7 million patients have received free treatment worth over Rs 3,400 crore. Women empowerment has been strengthened through 30% reservation, 33% participation in cooperative societies, and the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative, benefiting over 250,000 women.

Tourism and religious sectors have also achieved new milestones. In 2025, more than 60 million tourists visited the state, while the Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra saw record participation. Development works under master plans are ongoing in Kedarnath and Badrinath, and initiatives like the Manaskhand Temple Circuit and the introduction of winter tourism have helped promote year-round tourism.

Infrastructure development is progressing rapidly. Projects such as the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag rail line, the Delhi–Dehradun elevated road, ropeway projects, and the expansion of heli-services are transforming connectivity. The number of heliports and helipads in the state has also increased significantly.

Agriculture and the rural economy are witnessing innovation through initiatives like the Millets Policy, Kiwi Policy, and Dragon Fruit Scheme, aimed at increasing farmers’ income. The “House of Himalayas” brand is helping local products reach national and international markets.

These four years of the Dhami government have been transformative for Uttarakhand. From law and order to the economy, tourism, social welfare, and infrastructure, comprehensive progress has been achieved across sectors. With strong leadership and support from the central government, Uttarakhand is rapidly emerging as a key contributor to the vision of a developed India.
