Dehradun, 1 May: BJP’s National President Nitin Nabin is likely to visit Uttarakhand soon on a 3 day tour and will be holding a series of organisational meetings to discuss strategies for upcoming state assembly elections in Uttarakhand. This was confirmed by BJP’s State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt in an informal conversation. Bhatt however clarified that the dates of Nabin’s visit are yet to be finalised. His visit is likely after the ongoing elections in some states are over and the results are fully declared.

The proposed visit of Nabin to Uttarakhand is set to centre on detailed deliberations between the government and the organisation, with a particular focus on chalking out strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections. Bhatt stated that during the forthcoming tour, extensive discussions would be held at multiple levels of the party structure, ranging from mandal units to the state leadership and the Council of Ministers, in order to assess preparedness and fine-tune electoral planning. He added that party workers across the state are enthusiastic about the visit and are making elaborate arrangements to accord a grand welcome.

According to Bhatt, the proposed tour, which will be his first in the state in his current capacity, has generated considerable excitement among party cadres, and that Nabin will be accorded a warm welcome and reception from the airport to the party headquarters, including welcome events at several points along the route.

Bhatt also shared that, during the visit, the national president will convene a meeting of the state core group at the party headquarters. The meeting is expected to be attended by the Chief Minister, former Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament and other core committee members. The discussions will focus extensively on the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections, with the state unit presenting a comprehensive assessment of the current political landscape. Detailed reports on constituency-wise preparedness, the impact of Central and State government schemes on the public, performance of legislators and key local issues are likely to be reviewed. Special emphasis will also be placed on constituencies where the party could not secure desirable public support in previous elections, with efforts to prepare targeted strategies aimed at achieving a comprehensive victory across all Assembly segments in 2027. Bhatt said that the national president’s guidance would play a crucial role in shaping these plans with the objective of ensuring a one-sided victory for the party.

In addition to the core group meeting, the national president is also scheduled to interact with party office-bearers at different organisational levels. Meetings with senior party workers will be held, along with separate sessions involving representatives from one district and one mandal unit, where grassroots-level preparedness will be closely assessed. These interactions are expected to include a review of ongoing organisational programmes and formulation of specific strategies in view of the 2027 elections. The national president will also hold a special meeting with members of the state Cabinet, during which the implementation and impact of various schemes of the Central and State governments will be examined in detail.
