Haridwar, 10 May: A car heading towards Roorkee in the Laksar area suddenly lost control and plunged off the Sonali Bridge into the river below on Sunday. The car was completely destroyed in the accident. All five people in the car were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
According to the information received, a car going towards Roorkee in Laksar area suddenly went out of control and fell from Sonali Bridge onto the riverbed. The car got completely damaged after falling from the bridge. The police pulled the vehicle out of the river with the help of a tractor.
Senior Sub Inspector of Laksar Kotwali, Nitin Chauhan said that the police had received information that a car had gone out of control and fallen down from the Sonali river bridge. The police team immediately reached the spot and took all the injured to the hospital. There were a total of five people in the car at the time of the accident.
The injured have been identified as Rachna, wife of Jasvir, resident of Mundakheda Khurd, Soni, wife of Anil, resident of Dabki Maheshwari, Komal, wife of Aman, resident of Markpur, Shrikant, son of Suresh, resident of Bijnakhedi, Nakur police station, Saharanpur, and Anil, son of Rajendra, resident of Dabki Maheshwari. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. All the injured are being treated in the hospital.
