Dehradun, 11 May: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Monday listened to the grievances of ex-servicemen, their dependants, and citizens from remote areas during the Lok Milan Programme organised at the Lok Bhavan, here, and assured them of prompt and effective resolution of their issues.

Around twenty individuals from the districts of Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar, and Dehradun presented their various grievances and suggestions before the Governor. Major issues raised during the programme included land disputes, employment opportunities, assistance in village development works, financial aid, and other personal as well as community-related matters.

After hearing all complaints and suggestions, the Governor stated that every case would be resolved in accordance with rules and within the prescribed timeframe. He directed the grievance redressal officer to immediately forward all cases to the District Magistrates and departmental officials concerned to ensure swift and effective action.

The Governor said that the objective of the Lok Milan Programmes, organised from time to time at Lok Bhavan, is to directly hear the problems of the general public—especially ex-servicemen—and take sensitive and effective initiatives for their resolution. He emphasised that no unnecessary delay would be allowed in resolving matters related to public interest.

On this occasion, several individuals presented their self-written books to the Governor.

In addition, children from Uttarakhand who won medals in the National Federation Cup in Wushu met the Governor. Congratulating them on their achievement, the Governor wished them a bright future and encouraged them to continue excelling in sports.

Furthermore, medal-winning students of PM Shri Government Girls Inter College, who participated in the Youth Games, also met the Governor and received his blessings. These students won medals in the Under-17 and Under-14 categories in a Kabaddi competition held in Nepal. Congratulating the students on their success, the Governor wished them a bright future and said that daughters today are excelling in every field and bringing glory to the state and the country.
