Dehradun, 11 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today emphasised that placing national interest above all else and conserving energy resources is the collective responsibility of every citizen. He observed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the people issued yesterday is not merely about economic savings but a significant step towards building a self-reliant and empowered India.

Dhami emphasised that, if citizens take small yet meaningful pledges such as avoiding unnecessary foreign travel, prioritising local and indigenous products, reducing petrol and diesel consumption by using public transport, conserving energy, refraining from purchasing gold jewellery for a year, adopting natural manure instead of chemical fertilisers in farming and using edible oils judiciously, these actions will amount to a vital contribution to the nation’s economy.

The CM further observed that the people of Devbhoomi have always been at the forefront of serving national interest. He asserted that the resolve of ‘Vocal for Local’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat can only succeed when every citizen contributes at their own level. Expressing confidence, Dhami said that the people of Uttarakhand will transform the PM’s call into a mass movement. He reiterated that under Modi’s leadership, the country is advancing rapidly towards self-reliance, and with the participation of all citizens, this resolve will become even stronger.
