Dehradun, 28 May: Officials have asserted that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s initiative has made the verification of life certificates for pensioners far easier and more transparent. With the use of digital technology, pensioners can now complete the process online from their homes, sparing them the inconvenience of repeated visits to offices.

The state has nearly 1.5 lakh pensioners, including over 22,000 in Dehradun. To ease verification, the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ app and Aadhaar Face RD technology are being employed, enabling pensioners to submit their Digital Life Certificates (DLC) online. At the Pensioner Facilitation Hall in the office of the Chief Treasury Officer at Dehradun, continuous verification is being carried out through DLC, along with training sessions for pensioners on digital procedures and Aadhaar upgradation. Since 1 April 2024, more than 1.84 lakh pensioners have been verified digitally at this centre.

It may be recalled that District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan, upon assuming charge in Dehradun on Monday, had inspected the treasury and directed that maximum pensioners be verified through digital means so that senior citizens can avail the facility at home. The Pensioners can also create operator IDs through the Jeevan Pramaan app and complete verification from home, provided their Aadhaar is updated and linked with their mobile number and the treasury.

Additionally, through the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) app, pensioners can check their verification status online and download pension statements with ease. To assist the pensioners, the Directorate of Treasury has issued a helpline number 8899890000, while further information can be sought at treas-fdc-uk@nic.in.

The officials said that the digital initiative has freed elderly pensioners from long queues, allowing them to complete verification safely and conveniently from home. Dehradun resident and pensioner Shrikant Upadhyay said that he received training at the facilitation hall to submit his digital life certificate, which will enable him to renew it easily from home in future. He described the system as highly beneficial for senior citizens.

Chief Treasury Officer (CTO) Neetu Bhandari said that the facilitation hall has been set up to train pensioners in online procedures and added that pensioners from other districts residing in Dehradun can also avail the facility. She urged the pensioners not to share Aadhaar OTPs with unknown persons and to provide information only to authorised and reliable operators.
