Dehradun, 6 Jul: Kudos to the Indian Army for actively supporting tribal and underprivileged children living in remote border areas through Operation Sadbhavana (Goodwill) and the Vibrant Villages Programme. These initiatives aim to improve the quality of life, prevent migration, and integrate remote border youth into the national mainstream.

Recently, Army’s Spear Corps and Assam Rifles were given a warm send off by the Governor of Manipur and Dy CM, Arunachal Pradesh, for their exceptional work.

It is common knowledge that the Indian Army never fails the nation. They protect the borders, eliminate enemies and lend fatherly help to border area citizens by improving their lives and supporting their children’s education. Spear Corps and Assam Rifles in the Northeast have written a saga of outstanding work with ‘New India’s New Future’ by sending a latest app to 100 children to study AI under IIT Kanpur’s mentorship with simultaneous regular CBSE syllabus to a tribal Gurukul in  Dehradun – ITITI Doon Sanskriti School.

The selected students include children from Manipur’s IDP relief camps. It needs to be mentioned here that a total of 43,676 internally displaced persons (IDPs) are still living in 174 relief camps and prefabricated shelters across Manipur, primarily due to the ethnic violence that broke out in May 2023, in Arunachal’s Tawang, Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam.

Spear Corps In Dimapur that guards and protects entire NE borders did something that is no less than a miracle. Selecting children from India’s ‘first’ villages bordering Tibet and Myanmar (often called last villages) they organised a dream journey for a hundred students and their parents that was like travelling to a new orbit of the future.

Most of these children had their first lifetime experience of boarding a train and flying to Delhi by plane thanks to the Assam Rifles and Indian Army’s Op Vidya initiative (a name given by parents).

These children were given VIP treatment by the army officers. The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Bhalla, gave these children a special reception. Commander, Assam Rifles, Brig Pratyush Kumar invited the children and gave his blessings and support.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the renowned rejuvenator of culture and indigenous faith, Dy CM Chowna Mein gave a personal warm send off to tribal children from Namsai (his constituency) to weave a new future of patriotism and higher education.

The Doon based tribal Gurukul’s motto is to serve India through science and technology with basic values of patriotism and India-first spirit.

Here, children study together with tribal children from Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and other states, helping in making the vision of PM Modi to create a Viksit Powerful Bharat a reality.

While IIT Kanpur is running an AI Lab for these tribal children, Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology has established a STEM Lab in the school to inspire children to study science and understand its importance in life. Its DG, Dr Durgesh Pant states that the children of the Himalayan region are brilliant and it is the vision of PM Modi to bring them closer to science and technology for developing scientific temperament in these children from an early age. He is also helping to create a language lab to preserve and digitise tribal languages and produce books in those languages. One such book is already under production by the National Book Trust.
