Dehradun, 30 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today granted financial and administrative approval of various development works and projects worth Rs 676 crores from across the state. The approved projects include various development works, civic infrastructure and public welfare projects. The sanction includes provisions for solar lighting, drinking water supply, electricity distribution, urban local body works and effective implementation of key public announcements. In Almora municipal area, Rs 35 lakhs has been approved for the installation of 200 solar lights, while Rs 3.07 crores was sanctioned for a central control monitoring system and LED street lights in Chamiala Nagar Panchayat.
Under the urban establishment facilities development head, expenditure amount of Rs 1.95 crores has been approved for LED street lights and CCMS panels across major stretches in Dehradun including Ghantaghar to Buddha Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk to Prince Chowk, Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk, Ballupur Chowk, Suvidha Bhawan to Pulia No 6, and Ring Road Tapovan Chowk to Ladpur Church. An amount of Rs 1.99 crores has been sanctioned for LED street light poles and CCMS panels in Pithoragarh municipal area, and an amount of Rs 3.93 crores for similar works in Dehradun municipal limits.
In Nainital district, expenditure amount of Rs 2.13 crores was approved for the Krishnapur drinking water scheme. For Kumaon division, an amount of Rs 2 crore shas been sanctioned for the construction of 33/11 sub-stations, 33 KV lines and 11 KV feeders under five schemes, against a total approval of Rs 5 crores. The CM also approved release of the first instalment of Rs 23.10 crores from the Union government’s allocation of Rs 35 crores for three UJVNL projects. A major sanction of an amount of Rs 212.10 crores was granted for the Kedarnath Dham Master Plan under UPCL, covering the construction of a 33/11 KV sub-station and associated 33 KV and 11 KV lines.
In the higher education sector, an amount of Rs 19 crores was sanctioned for the construction of a science faculty postgraduate building at Government PG College in Agastyamuni. Anticipating the recommendations of the Sixth State Finance Commission, the CM also approved an expenditure of Rs 82.21 crores as the second quarterly instalment for all district panchayats and Rs 325.03 crores for all the urban local bodies (ULBs) under the Fifth State Finance Commission recommendations.
