Dehradun, 12 Aug: HQs, Chief Engineer, Project Shivalik, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Border Roads Organisation, today, organised a comprehensive Eye Check-Up Camp at CMIR in collaboration with Raahi Netradham Superspeciality Eye Hospital, Dehradun, as part of activities marking the upcoming 80th Independence Day.

The camp provided comprehensive eye examinations and consultations covering cataract, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and paediatric eye care, along with on-spot optical and pharmacy support to 84 beneficiaries including all ranks and families.

Given the occupational hazards faced by field personnel – dust, debris, chemical exposure, and welding glare – the initiative also featured an awareness lecture on protective eye safety measures and timely response to eye injuries.

The session was attended by Virender Singh, Chief Engineer, Project Shivalik, along with senior officers and a large gathering of BRO Karmyogis. Dr Kalyan Singh, noted Ophthalmologist and Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon at Raahi Netradham, emphasised that preventive screening directly supports safer field operations, particularly for drivers and machinery operators.

The camp reflects Project Shivalik’s continued commitment to personnel welfare and preventive healthcare. Raahi Netradham’s team of specialists conducted the screenings using advanced diagnostic facilities.
