Pokhra (Pauri), 7 Sep: On the second day of his visit to the constituency, Cabinet Minister and Chaubattakhal MLA Satpal Maharaj addressed public representatives and local residents at a workers’ registration and renewal camp organised by the Labour Department at the auditorium in Pokhra Development Block. He also listened to the grievances of the people and directed departmental officials to take immediate action for their resolution.
Addressing the gathering at the workers’ registration and renewal camp held on Monday at the Pokhra Development Block headquarters, Maharaj said that, in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, continuous development works are being carried out in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that through initiatives such as the camp organised by the Labour Department, the state government is also making efforts to resolve people’s problems at their doorstep.
He said that workers are a vital link in the development of, both, the state and the country. Whether it is road construction, building construction, industrial activities or any other labour-intensive work, development cannot be imagined without the hard work and contribution of workers.
Maharaj said that workers do not merely perform labour; with sweat and dedication, they write a new chapter in the development of the state. The government’s clear objective is to ensure that workers receive the benefits of their rights and welfare schemes in a simple, transparent and time-bound manner. In this regard, registration and renewal of workers’ registration are extremely important. Registered workers are able to access various welfare schemes and facilities being provided by the government.
These include education, healthcare, social security and other welfare assistance for workers and their families.
“I urge all workers to complete their registration on time, and those who are already registered should make sure to renew their registration as well,” he stated.
The biggest advantage of these camps is that workers do not have to make repeated visits to different government offices for registration and renewal. Through such camps, the department is making efforts to bring services directly to workers. This is part of the government’s approach of taking administration beyond government offices and bringing it directly to the doorstep of the people.
He said that the government is working for the welfare of every section of society in the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”. The dignity and welfare of workers are among the government’s key priorities.
He directed departmental officials to ensure that every worker attending the camps is provided complete information about the registration and renewal process in simple language. It must be ensured that no worker faces unnecessary difficulties and that eligible workers receive the benefits of government schemes on time.
He also appealed to workers to make maximum use of these camps, remain informed about their documents and registration status, and stay aware of the facilities being provided by the government.
Concluding his address, he once again paid tribute to all workers for their tireless efforts and said, “Your labour is the foundation of our state’s progress. The government remains continuously committed to your dignity, safety and welfare.”
During the programme, Pokhra Mandal President Shailendra Darshan, State BJP Executive Committee Member Suyash Rawat, District General Secretary Mahipal Singh Negi, Block Pramukh Sanjay Gusain, SDM Rekha Arya, Block Development Officer SP Shah, MLA Representative Prabhusharan Budakoti, District Panchayat Member Balwant Negi, General Secretary Sunil, Vikas, Pushkar Joshi, Bhagat Singh Rawat, Rajpal Singh Rawat, District General Secretary of Mahila Morcha Madhubala, Neema Rameshwari Joshi, Rajpal and several other local public representatives were present.
