Dehradun, 3 Oct: Doon International School Riverside Campus hosted the fourth edition of TEDxDISRiverside Youth, today, bringing together students and educators from schools across Dehradun for a day of inspiring ideas, diverse perspectives and meaningful conversations.

Held under the theme “Gen Z: Redefining Tomorrow”, the event explored the aspirations, challenges and possibilities shaping today’s young generation. With the spirit of “Ideas Today – A Brighter Tomorrow”, the event encouraged students to question, reflect and engage with ideas that extend beyond the classroom.

The event featured six distinguished speakers from diverse fields. Kulbhushan Kain, a veteran educationist and writer with decades of experience in education, spoke on “Gen Z: Redefining Tomorrow”. Dr. Sona Kaushal Gupta, a neuropsychologist and mental-health professional, explored the influence of digital culture through “When the Reel Becomes More Real than Life”. Dr. Shalini J. Sharma addressed identity, validation and self-worth through “Do You Like Me or Do You Like Me Enough?”.

Colonel Bhaskar Bharti (Retd.) presented “Olive Greens to Lights – Camera – Action,” drawing from his diverse professional journey. Dr. Pavan Soni, an innovation and creativity expert, educator and author, explored “Creativity & Spiritual Anchoring,” while Mona Verma, an award-winning author, poet and executive presence coach, invited the audience to reflect on identity and self-perception through “Who Told You Who You Are?”

The participation of schools from across the city added to the vibrancy of the event, providing students from different educational communities an opportunity to listen, engage and exchange perspectives.

Harinder Singh Mann, Director, Doon International School, expressed his gratitude to the speakers, participating schools, educators and students. He emphasised the importance of creating platforms where young people can encounter powerful ideas, engage with diverse perspectives and develop the confidence to think independently and shape their own paths.

The fourth edition of TEDxDISRiverside Youth concluded with an engaging exchange of ideas and perspectives, reaffirming the school’s commitment to providing young minds with platforms that inspire curiosity, dialogue and thoughtful reflection.
