Dehradun, 8 Oct: Experts at Graphic Era said that AI is a product of human intelligence, and its direction will ultimately be determined by human intellect, wisdom and vision.
A three-day national conference on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science began today at Graphic Era Deemed University. Addressing the inaugural session, Chief Guest, Professor at IIT Roorkee, Dr. S. N. Rangnekar, said that the impact of AI depends on how effectively it is used with human intelligence and discretion. Human intelligence is the foundation of AI, he said, adding that the true success of technology lies not in replacing human intelligence, but in making it more capable and effective.
Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Santosh S. Saraf, said that AI is not merely a means of technological advancement but also a major social responsibility. He emphasised that its use should remain centred on human welfare, ethical values and social responsibility.
During the three-day national conference, discussions will be held on topics including the role of AI in business decision-making, challenges and ethical issues related to Data Science and AI, and the role of AI in business forecasting.
The conference is being jointly organised by the School of Management of Graphic Era Deemed University, and AICTE, New Delhi. Registrar, Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma; Head of School of Management, Dr. Navneet Rawat; Head of Department of Business Management, Dr. N. S. Bohra; Conveners, Dr. Girish Lakhera and Dr. Ratnakar Mishra, along with other faculty members, were present.
