Dehradun, 20 Jun: UPES, a Dehradun-based multidisciplinary university, has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Air Force to offer various undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD and online programmes to the wards and spouses of IAF personnel, including those who are serving, retired, disabled, or died in harness.
As per the MoU, the university will reserve seats and provide scholarships of up to 30% for students enrolling in full-time undergraduate programmes such as BBA, BTech, LLB, BSc (Hons), BA, and BA (Hons). The scholarships will be awarded based on scores achieved in Class 12 exams, CUET, or JEE.
Furthermore, UPES will provide part-time PhD programmes tailored for IAF Officers, emphasising research in Aviation, Aeronautics, Engineering, Management, Science and Technology, Legal Studies, and Logistics and Supply, in line with the IAF’s educational and R&D priorities.
In order to ensure comprehensive support, UPES Online, the digital learning vertical of UPES, will also offer various courses including MBA, BBA, BCA, Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and certificate courses to Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel and their families. Some of the key benefits offered under this partnership include a 20% fee waiver, and a 5% relaxation in eligibility criteria (minimum 45% marks required). UPES Online will offer live online classes and recorded sessions to ensure a seamless learning experience.
The MoU was signed by the Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Education), Air Vice-Marshal Rajeev Sharma, and Registrar and Director of Training & Placements of UPES, Manish Madaan, in the presence of Group Captain Rachna Joshi, Dr Sunil Rai, President, UPES, and other senior IAF officers and UPES faculty members at the campus.
