Cong fact-finding team to review LS election results today

Dehradun, 17 Jul: Members of the ‘Fact Finding Committee’ constituted by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to review the Lok Sabha election results is reaching Dehradun tomorrow. It will hold meetings with the Congress leaders and office-bearers of Uttarakhand from tomorrow till 20 July. The committee is headed by former MP PL Punia and includes Rajya Sabha MP Rajni Patil.

Speaking with media persons here today, State Congress Vice President, Organisation, Mathura Dutt Joshi disclosed that members of the fact-finding committee will reach the State Congress office on 18 July. Several review meetings in this regard have been scheduled in Dehradun. The first will be held with the former MPs, MP candidates, MLAs, former MLAs of Almora-Pithoragarh parliamentary constituency from 11 a.m., after which another meeting has been organised with all the AICC, PCC members, district, block and city Congress presidents of the parliamentary constituency. Yet, another meeting has been scheduled to be held with the former MPs, MP candidates, MLAs, former MLAs of Nainital parliamentary constituency from 3:30 p.m. On 18 July, the last meeting will be held with all the AICC, PCC members, district, block and city Congress presidents of the parliamentary constituency.

On 19 July, from 10 a.m., a review meeting is scheduled with former MPs, MP candidates, MLAs, former MLAs of Garhwal (Pauri) Parliamentary constituency, after which a meeting with all AICC, PCC members, district, block and city Congress presidents will also be held. From 2 p.m. onwards there will be a review meeting regarding the Tehri parliamentary constituency in similar mode. From 5:30 p.m. on 19 July, a review meeting will be held regarding Haridwar parliamentary constituency.

Joshi said that after meeting with senior party leaders on 20 July, the fact-finding committee will hold a meeting with the presidents of affiliated organisations, departments and cells from 12 p.m. and then the team will leave for New Delhi at 3 p.m.
